ABOUT ME
Â
Â
I am passionate about helping moms and dads in the midst of parenting through the emerging adult stage (ages 18-29).
In May of 2008, I went through the greatest parenting challenge of my life. The eldest of my five children called me from across the country to say he was in troubleâŚhe was failing classes, about to lose his job, and his use of alcohol was totally out of control.
At the time he was twenty years oldâŚ

"I worked with Kim for six weeks, she feels like a good friend, her knowledge and life experience come across as warm, generous, compassionate, tough-love, leaving me feeling calm and in control of my parenting decisions. Her gift is in listening, processing and providing real world, actionable feedback based on her extensive research and life experiences of raising 5 kids of her own. I would recommend Kim to any parent looking for guidance as they navigate the adolescent to young adult years of parenting."
Kate
Mom of 23-year-old
"After working with Kim, I can say my daughter and I have a healthier relationship. We now talk to each other with respect (which was sorely lacking) and Iâve learned how to affectively use my voice (taking out the judgment from my tone). I understand how to talk with her instead of what I was doing (and how I experienced my parents) which was talking at her. I felt like Kim really listened and asked the right questions to help me get the confidence I needed and start being consistent in the way I was interacting. I learned when it was about me, and when to step back and let my daughter deal with her own stuff."
Jayne T.
Mom of three young adults
"Kim has been a godsend! I was at my wits end with my young adult son and daughter and Kimâs calm, centered approach to helping me break down the ârealâ issues was what helped create the strategy that was needed to build trust and productive communication with my kids. Highly recommend!"
BR
21-year-old
"Kim worked with my parents at first and then they asked me if I would share my perspective in a session so Kim talked and I decided to do a few sessions alone, I also did some with my parents. I felt like Kim was able to listen to my side of things and then share with my parents in a way they could understand that I just wasnât able to do. I also better understood my parentâs perspective and Kim was helpful to bridge the gap we had in talking with each other."
Jerry F.
Dad of an alcoholic in recovery
"My wife and I didnât know how to proceed when our son (26) seemed to be out of control in his use of alcohol. We didnât know what the next step was after heâd received his second DUI. We met with Kim to talk about what the boundaries should be, if our son needed treatment, and how to get him to go if he didnât want to go. What we gained from the experience was support for our feelings, a concrete plan of action, and the peace of mind of knowing we were not alone even though we felt like all the other parents we knew had what we thought were âsuccessfulâ kids. Iâd highly recommend Kimâs coaching services."
SF
Mom of 2 adults
"I started in Kimâs Empowered Momâs group and really got a strong sense of community from the other momâs who were there working on their own problems. We all think we are alone, and yet I found that isnât the case. Through Kimâs group guidance, not only did I learn from other moms, but Kim is so grounded it gave me the confidence I needed to set personal boundaries for myself. Today my son is choosing to live elsewhere and continue to use weed. Itâs his life, heâs a 31-year-old man and I have to believe at some point things will change. I feel good about finally putting my foot down and I donât think Iâd have been able to do it without the group."
Taryn P.
"I was tired of investing money in my daughter and hoping things would change. When I finally invested in
myself, it wasnât easy...but it did pay off."
Mike T.
"The work with Kim is helping me build my own toolbox. It has taught me how to be of support and at the same time empower our kids to navigate the challenges of life themselves, without constantly clearing the path of every obstacle and instead providing them with opportunities to grow through failure, trial and error and subsequently earn and own their successes and achievements. âI was at my wits end with my 22-year-old son when I found Kimâs videos and I knew I wanted to work with her. Like she says, âParenting kids 18-25 can be the most mentally challenging.â She was invested in seeing me meet the goals Iâd set out for our work together. She called me out on some inconsistencies that led to my sonâs continued use of alcohol with no real consequences. I got it together with her support and now I am the parent my son needs me to be as he continues to grow into an independent adult."

"I highly recommend Kim Muench to any parent who is looking for guidance in raising their young adult
children in a complex and complicated world. Her personalized coaching approach, deep understanding of family dynamics, largely through her own experience with her five children, and her ability to provide practical strategies has been an invaluable resource for me."
Â
"My coaching sessions with Kim have given me valuable insights and strategies for communicating with our young adults more effectively, to navigate tough conversations, to set boundaries, and establish clear expectations from our children."
Â
"One of the things that impressed me most about Kim is her ability to really listen, to hold up a mirror, and to tailor her coaching approach to the unique needs of my family. She understands that every family dynamic is different, that oftentimes the mother is the emotional barometer of the family and that change takes place from the top down."
Â
"The personalized coaching sessions with Kim have been a tremendous help to me. Kimâs patient and wise
approach, her gentle guidance and feedback, her thoughtful summaries following each session have strengthened my resolve, to hit the re-set button with our kids and to land and turn off the âhelicopterâ."
Â
"As parents to four young adults between the ages of 19 to 27, we found navigating the challenges of raising young adults, especially during and after the worldwide Covid pandemic, increasingly overwhelming and stressful. I reached out to Kim Muench after following her posts on Instagram and Tik Tok to engage in personal coaching sessions. I didnât know what to expect, but I knew the time had come to take the next step in my communication, to gain clarity on how to set achievable boundaries and shift my approach."
