We bit the bullet and got my 11-year-old daughter an iPhone for Christmas. It wasn't a quick or easy decision, the journey included my being very honest about my anxiety around social media. For each parent and family it's a very personal decision, we chose to root ours in love, not fear.
Do you do too much for your kids? Consciously (or unconsciously) make suggestions for their life path? It's natural in today's culture to do so, in the name of happiness and success for our kids. But it is robbing them of a necessary life skill...learning to be resilient!
